Between Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee is Stanton, Tennessee the future home of Blue Oval City Tennessee. Blue Oval City is a massive undertaking by Ford Motor Company as they prepare to evolve into the future of automobiles.
This 3600-acre mega campus is envisioned to be a sustainable automotive manufacturing ecosystem. The $5.6 billion battery and vehicle manufacturing campus will be the largest in the Ford world. It will also be Ford’s first carbon-neutral vehicle and battery manufacturing campus. The ground was broken in September of 2022 and is due to be operational at some point in 2025
The State of Tennessee Government released the following numbers showing the economic impact on West Tennessee:
- The project is anticipated to generate 27,000 new jobs to support the Megasite’s operations, including direct, indirect and induced new jobs. This will result in $1.02 billion in annual earnings;
- Contribute $3.5 billion each year to Tennessee’s gross state product;
- Generate temporary construction benefits including $5.6 billion in capital investments.
- Additionally, the equivalent of 33,000 temporary direct, indirect and induced jobs are expected to support the construction period.
