Central City/Black Hawk – 50-minute drive
Although the population may not be large, the amount of history and experiences in this area are plentiful. Once upon a time, Central City had more money and culture than Denver. It was so influential in the region that it almost became the capital when Colorado officially achieved statehood in 1876. Black Hawk is a short 1.5 miles away and offers a little more hustle and bustle but provides access to Central City’s activities. Boulder, Colorado – 40-minute drive
Boulder, Colorado has a great balance of urban and outdoor adventures. It is known for its food scene, breweries and mesmerizing downtown area.
