America’s Most Reliable Commuter Airline Will Launch Atlanta Flights on June 1st

JACKSON, Tenn – April 6, 2022 — Southern Airways will begin service from McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport with three daily departures to Atlanta starting Wednesday, June 1, 2022.  Southern replaces Boutique Air, which has served the city for the past year.

Southern was founded in Memphis in 2013 and has since grown to be the largest commuter airline in America. Now serving 41 cities from Nantucket to Honolulu, Southern has consistently ranked as one of the most reliable and on-time airlines in the country. In 2021, excluding weather, Southern completed 99.3% of its nearly 64,000 scheduled flights.

Southern has a history of replacing under-performing airlines and rebuilding enplanements. “It takes time to earn the community’s trust,” said Stan Little, chairman and CEO of Southern. “We have rebuilt community air service many times before, and we understand how to do it.  You will see our executives highly involved in the Jackson community. Having been born and raised in Humboldt, I will take extra pride in seeing Southern serve my hometown Jackson airport.”

Southern’s service between Jackson and Atlanta will take place on the roomy and comfortable Cessna Grand Caravan. Fares will range from $69 to $99 each way.  Additionally, Southern will offer weekend summer flights to Destin, with a brief stop in Memphis, on its seasonal flights to the Emerald Coast which are entering their 10th year. Tickets are on sale now at www.iFlySouthern.com, as well as all major booking sites.

Southern currently has interline ticketing and baggage agreements with American, United, and Alaska Airlines. Interline agreements mean that passengers can book their flights between Jackson and their final destination in one single transaction and have their trips protected in the event of a cancellation or delay from either airline.  Go to iFlySouthern.com to book your tickets to any destination in the United States, with flights originating from Jackson on Southern Airways.
