A handful of the nation’s most elite young surfers gathered together at the 2021 Toyota USA Surfing Championships the week of June 21st, 2021 in San Clemente, California to compete for various coveted titles and positions on USA Surfing’s elite junior teams. The excitement and prestigiousness of this event attracted not only the nation’s best young athletes but also surf industry leaders, talent scouts and various media outlets.
Surfers secure their spots for this event by competing in regional competitions across mainland USA and Hawaii. The Boys Under 18 class was fierce this year. With highly talented individuals displaying their skills and abilities knowing that they are setting the stage of expectations for the highly anticipated debut of surfing at the 2020 (now 2021) Olympics in Tokyo. After several extreme heats, Mokulele’s very own Levi Young took 4th place overall in the Under 18 finals.
Mokulele is very proud of Levi (pictured above) for his achievement at the 2021 Toyota USA Surfing Championships. We are also honored to have had the opportunity to sponsor 4 additional surfers for this competition: Makana Franzmann, Jackson Bunch, Luana Silva and Kai Martin. All of which brought fierce competition to the USA Surfing Championships and proudly represented the state of Hawaii. The entire Mokulele surf team has a very bright future that we all look forward to watching unfold as the sports world of surfing grows each year.
